This report documents the outcomes of an assessment executed by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean) on the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) waste stream in the Republic of Suriname.

The identifies local stakeholders involved in WEEE generation and management, the relationships between these stakeholders, and the contribution that these stakeholders make to the overall e-waste generation and management in Suriname. It also seeks to highlight current management practices to deal with WEEE as well as the extent of stakeholder knowledge and data management with regards to this waste stream within the local context.

Based on the findings of this assessment, the BCRC-Caribbean developed a series of recommendations which, if addressed, can significantly aid in the achievement of the environmentally sound management of WEEE in Suriname.
