This case study presents the outcomes of the project “Sustainability in the Textile Value Chain: Promoting Ecolabels and Sustainable Public Procurement”, implemented by the China Environmental United Certification Center (CEC).
The project used a value chain approach and life cycle assessment to develop Ecological Textile Technical Specifications, integrating environmental and social sustainability criteria.
It also promoted sustainable procurement through outreach activities and pilot assessments in three leading Chinese textile enterprises, supporting the sector’s green and low-carbon transition.
