This Country Planning Framework (CPF) sets the strategic direction for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Thailand over the period 2017-2021. It aims to assist Thailand in delivering its 12th National Economic and Social Development Plan (NESDP), Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), and renewable energy and energy efficiency targets. Through the CPF, GGGI will support Thailand to achieve two key strategic outcomes: 

  • Outcome 1: Increased investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency in the industrial sector catalyses the green energy transition in Thailand. 
  • Outcome 2: Green city development in Thailand's Special Economic Zones (SEZ) results in low-carbon, climate-resilient, and livable cities that contribute to sustainable economic development and fair regional income distribution.
