This report provides guidance on seeking information that supports the integration of ecosystem services into policy and public management. The study is divided into two parts. Part A gives a broad introduction on the identification, development, and properties of ecosystem service indicators, and their relation to the policy cycle. Part B discusses example indicators of different categories—provisioning services (food, fresh water, raw materials), regulating services (climate regulation, pollination, carbon sequestration), habitat or supporting services (maintenance of genetic diversity and habitats for species), and cultural services (tourism and recreation).
