Across the globe, food crops and clothing are being treated with irrationally high levels of dangerous pesticides. This often comes at the cost of human and environmental health. Most of these pesticides are categorized as highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) and are banned in many countries.
This course will teach participants about HHPs, their uses, their harmful impacts and the role they can play to safeguard future generations. It offers four modules, focusing on examples of HHPs, problems with HHPs, an overview of sectors where HHPs are used and how to avoid HHPs. The course can be a great learning resource for communities in Small Island Developing States. This is an online course and can be taken any time.
The course is available in French with English subtitles.
