
This four hour course introduces the science, the current global legal framework, and the elements of a framework for action to mitigate the growing threat of pollution worldwide.
The e-learning course is comprised of three lessons which provide links to the relevant information and concepts of the InforMEA Glossary section. The lessons are comprised of an interactive module, additional materials and a pdf hand-out. The core content of these lessons is complemented with videos, publications and other web resources.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the impact and cost of pollution on the planet and on his/her own life
2. Describe the international response to the challenges posed by pollution, including, the role of Multilateral Environmental Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals
3. Provide examples of tools and interventions for innovative and targeted action for the transition towards a pollution free plan
4. Get familiar with documents and tools that can assist in the preparation for participating in the session of the UN Environment Assembly, such as InforMEA
5. Make an informed decision when committing to the Clean Planet Pledge
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate from UN Environment.
