This self-paced course is designed to assist developing the inventory of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) listed under the Stockholm Convention. It provides useful information to understand why it is important to develop a national PBDE inventory, and how to do so.

The course is based on the Draft Guidance on Preparing Inventories of PBDEs Listed under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. It includes the general guidance for PBDEs inventories, as well as the basics for specific inventories for target sectors such as electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) and related waste (WEEE), transport, textiles and construction.

The content is provided by UNEP with support from Basel Convention Coordinating Centre-Stockholm Convention Regional Centre in Latin America and the Caribbean Region (BCRC-SCRC-LATU), and the e-course is developed by Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific (SCRC China).
