This stocktake report identifies accredited waste management courses/programmes previously and currently available in higher education institutes at the tertiary and vocational levels in the Pacific region, particularly for PacWastePlus participating countries.
The 15 PacWaste Plus countries are: the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
The report also provides a snapshot of existing formal waste management and waste management-related courses; lists formal waste management courses offered in the SPREP region, lists donor funded waste management training in the PacWastePlus countries, and discusses waste management training courses offered by international waste management institutes and associations.
