World Bank Course: Economics of Climate-Resilient Development

Organisation :

In this course, the user will learn the basics for developing economically viable climate-resilient plans. The course starts with a review of the scientific consensus on changes in climate patterns and projections to the future, and explains the rationale for countries to develop climate-resilient plans that will help them to move away from a business-as-usual development path. The course continues with a description of a How-to Framework for Climate-Resilient Development Plans that frames the adaptation problem and helps prioritizing adaptation measures. The course ends with a practical application of that framework, where participants will have the opportunity to put into practice their learning on how-to develop climate resilient plans, and how to factor-in the costs of adaptation. Throughout the e-course, interactive exercises help the user to test their understanding at key points. Case studies, reference materials and other helpful resources are highlighted so as to strengthen the learning experience.
