On 21-22 November 2023, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is hosting the 2023 Global International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO) Meeting.
The meeting will provide a platform for various stakeholders in the tourism industry to share experiences and best practices and to jointly advance monitoring efforts at the destination level.
The event will explore the critical role of effective governance in steering sustainable tourism development towards success, showcase the significance of involving local communities and stakeholders in shaping sustainable tourism practices and policies, and focus on practical experiences in assessing the environmental impacts of tourism activities through cases studies and tools for measuring and mitigating the ecological footprint of tourism.
