On 8-9 November 2023, the Research Institute for Sustainability – Helmholtz Centre Potsdam (RIFS), University College London Institute for Sustainable Resources (UCL ISR), Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (Global ABC) and One Planet Network will organize the Carbon Footprint Policy Accelerator conference.
At this international conference, inputs from actors involved with the Buy Clean movement in the USA (public procurement of building products) and mandatory maximum carbon threshold standard setting for buildings in Denmark and the Netherlands will be complemented with interactive sessions on the limitations and potentials of these approaches and the transfer of lessons learned.
The conference will highlight potentials for coordinated actions and provide space for networking. Within interactive workshops, panel discussions and keynote presentations, connections will be explored between the US Inflation Reduction Act, public and private pledges to buy ultra-low carbon products through the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Industrial Deep Decarbonisation Initiative (IDDI) and First Movers Coalition.
