On 13 April 2026 (09:00-10:30 CEST), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) hosted a webinar on Embedding Just Transitions into Long-term Climate Strategies, bringing together stakeholders to explore how countries can ensure their net-zero transitions are fair, inclusive, and leave no one behind.
With 404 registrants and roughly 200 active participants spanning 112 countries, the webinar fostered vibrant engagement through lively conversation and insightful questions.
The session drew on findings from the 2026 brief “Just Transitions in LT-LEDS: A Review of G20 Submissions,” which reveals a gap between ambition and action. While most G20 countries recognize the importance of a just transition, their strategies often lack clear targets, financing plans, and monitoring frameworks to support implementation.
Through presentations and discussion, the webinar highlighted practical ways to move from strategy to action, including strengthening policy design, mobilizing finance and enhancing collaboration across sectors to operationalize just transition principles.
