On 29-30 May 2024, the Delegation of the European Union to Japan (EUD) will organize the EU-Japan Subnational Climate Action Workshop, in collaboration with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the City of Yokohama, to facilitate exchanges between cities in Europe and Japan on local and regional climate action.
The aims of the event is to share the progress made by cities since the launch of both initiatives and explore how the EU and Japan can further cooperate. Energy issues, financing strategies and citizen engagement are key topics in the agenda.
Participants will also share experiences of climate actions at the local level, multi-level actions and collaboration, which were highlighted in recent G7 meetings and the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convent on Climate Change.
