At COP28, GO4SDGs and partners will be demonstrating how public-private partnerships are tackling food loss and waste at scale around the world, as well as presenting the success stories from the Recipe of Change Campaign, focusing on behavioural change mainly in households and the hospitality sector.

Key Objectives of this side event will be:
- Launch the new UNEP Food Waste Index Report 2023, with new global and country estimates of food waste at the household, retail, and food service levels.
- Demonstrate how Public-Private Partnerships are tackling food loss and waste at scale around the world.
- Present the success stories from Recipe of Change implemented in West Asia with support of the GO4SDGs initiative, focusing on behavioral change mainly in the households and hospitality sector.
- Highlight pathways to deliver SDG 12.3 and opportunities for G20 leadership.
The event will end with a breakfast refreshment and cooking demonstration by UNEP Advocate on Food Waste in West Asia, Chef Leyla Fathallah and Chef Sebastian Nohse, Senior Director, Culinary, EMEA, Hilton, in the UNEP Pavilion. They will cook a recipe with leftover ingredients and provide concrete tips on how to reduce food waste at the household and restaurant level, drawing on the Green Breakfast initiative’s tools.
