Convening under the theme “Keep soil alive, protect soil biodiversity”, the meeting aims to fill some critical knowledge gaps and promote discussion among policymakers, food producers, scientists, practitioners and other stakeholders on solutions to live in harmony with nature, and ultimately, achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the conservation and sustainable use of soil biodiversity.

GSOBI20 will bring science and policy together in order to review the status and challenges of soil biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. It will focus on three main themes: state of knowledge on soil biodiversity, soil biodiversity in action and soil biodiversity shaping the future of food system.
