On 28 April 2021 at 22:00 - 23:00 CET, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is holding an online event "How can we solve our plastic pollution problem?".
Only 9 percent of plastic waste in the US is recycled each year. And at this very moment, more than $2 billion worth of plastic material is sitting in our landfills. We see the plastic waste all around us, every day. And with 77 percent of the public agreeing that too many products are made of plastic, and that waste is becoming unavoidable... What are the solutions? Who are the key players we need to step up?
WWF experts will be hosting a town hall to discuss plastic pollution and the solutions to fix the broken system. In this event, a public conversion will be held to address the plastic pollution crisis, some of these questions asked, and the policies and packaging solutions needed for real world impact. This event will be streamed live on World Wildlife Fund's YouTube and Facebook channels.
