Green Cross International and the Republic and Canton of Geneva are joining forces to host an international conference for a green and inclusive economy on 6 and 7 October, 2015. It will be held in Geneva, the traditional capital of peace and human rights, and home to Geneva Environment Network (GEN) – the world’s largest environment network, with over 75 member organisations including United Nations offices and programmes, local authorities, academic institutions and non-governmental organisations.

Led by Mikhail Gorbachev, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and founding president of Green Cross International, prominent experts and opinion leaders will be present to offer their visions for the future – and send a united message to the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris this December.

Green Cross International (GCI) is an independent non-profit and nongovernmental organisation founded in 1993 by Nobel Peace Laureate Mikhail Gorbachev. It addresses the inter-connected global challenges of security, poverty and environmental degradation through global advocacy and local projects. GCI is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and has a network of national organisations in 27 countries.
