On 5 October 2023 (16:00-20:00 CET/08:00-12:00 CST), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will host the first Ministerial Summit on Environmental Sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This event will bring together government officials from the region as well as the European Union and international and regional organizations to discuss the interaction between environmental sustainability objectives with productivity, social inclusion and governance agendas. It will also address the different angles of the green transition in Latin America, best practices and lessons learned.
The summit supports the implementation of the commitments adopted in the IX Summit of the Americas, and will serve as a stepping-stone towards the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, which will be co-chaired by Costa Rica and France.
