
The first meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) for the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) will be held from 24–27 June 2025 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The event is open to all stakeholders committed to sustainable global chemicals management, particularly professionals representing governments, industry, health and labour, business and industry associations, academia, and non-governmental associations. FARM invites you to join hybrid events, where the programme team will participate in the discussions.

Hosted by FAO and OECD, in collaboration with UNDP, UNEP, and WHO. This event addresses two issues of concern under the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC): Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs) and Per- and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS). The event will outline progress in reducing risks from PFAS and HHPs under GFC and invite participants to join the PFAS Group and the Global Alliance on HHPs. The event will indicate possible futures for PFAS and HHPs under the GFC and explore the process of establishing the HHPs alliance.
