On 23 May 2018 (9:30 AM-3:30PM CET), the World Wildlife Fund and the European Policy Center are hosting the Plan It Right: Fighting Climate Change Through 2050 Strategies in Brussels,Belgium.
This full day high-level policy conference will highlight the outcomes of the MaxiMiseR project. The MaxiMiseR project aims help EU Member States fulfill their emission reduction commitments by developing meaningful LCDS, optimising the potential of the EU MMR, and identifying options for funding for decarbonisation to support the EU’s transition to a low carbon society. MaxiMiseR will reach these objectives through analysing the state of play of Europe’s Low Carbon Development Strategies, and on the current use of ETS auctioning revenues, sharing knowledge and best practice.
Sessions will feature discussions on:
- Where things stand on national long-term climate strategies
- How to make great climate plans
- How the EU can make national long-term climate strategies work in the global context
