On September 14-15, the Green Fiscal Policy Network (GFPN) is hosting a workshop on the "Role of Fiscal Policies in a Green COVID-19 Recovery: Experience, Best Practice and Next Steps in the Asia-Pacific Region".
The COVID-19 crisis has opened a window of opportunity for policymakers to recalibrate existing policies and develop new, innovative strategies to mobilize revenue and drive a green, inclusive, low-carbon recovery. In this context, green fiscal policies have enormous potential to mobilize domestic revenue while furthering environmental and climate goals.
The workshop will explore the potential role of green fiscal policies and how they can support public health efforts, reduce environmental and climate change risks, and strengthen resilience to future crises by embedding inclusive and sustainable socio-economic considerations in national economic planning.
