On 11 November 2022 (9:30-10:15 (Egypt, UTC+2), GO4SDGs, UNEPs Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean will organize this side event in collaboration with IDB, IDB Invest, ECLAC, and Circular Economy Coalition for Latin America and the Caribbean.
This side event presents and discuss the methodology to develop the Circularity Gap Report (CGR) for Latin America and the Caribbean. This will establish a baseline for a circular economy for the region and will bring an understanding of the key sectors, materials, and kinds of strategies that should be prioritized to achieve a circular economy. The report will allow the region to be compared with other geographies and will be the first to gather data on the circular economy in LAC. The need to establish a baseline and to measure advancement was raised in the vision’s consultation process of the Circular Economy Coalition.
