On 20 July 2022, the UN General Assembly and UN Economic and Social Council will host the Special High-level Dialogue on the Sustainable Development of Africa.
Held under the theme "The Africa We Want: Reconfirming the Development of Africa as a Priority for the UN System," the event aims to contribute to achieving Africa’s transformative vision for development, as encapsulated in the seven aspirations of the African Union’s (AU) Agenda 2063.
The high-level dialogue is aligned with the AU’s theme of the year, "Strengthening resilience in nutrition and food security on the African continent: strengthening agro-food systems, health and social protection systems for the acceleration of human, social, and economic capital development."
