On 16 May 2022 (13:30 CEST), the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), with Friends of Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform (FFFSR) and the Geneva Environment Network (GEN), will host Subsidizing Fossil Fuels in Times of High Energy Prices: Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform in Trade and Climate Discussions

The event, which will take place both virtually and in-person at International Environment House II in Geneva, Switzerland, will tackle how to address the energy pricing crisis strategically through various forums and collectively work to avoid the pressure to subsidize fossil fuels in the immediate term, while still maintaining momentum on fossil fuel subsidy reform and the clean energy transition in the longer term.
