On 3 June 2025 (14:00–15:00 CEST), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and One Planet Network will host a webinar on Unlocking Sustainability in the Sugarcane Value Chain – Circular and Regenerative Pathways. The session will explore how circular and regenerative practices can reduce the environmental impacts of sugarcane production while promoting equity, resource efficiency and climate resilience.
The discussion will examine how circular economy, regenerative agriculture and bioeconomy strategies can transform the sugarcane value chain into a more sustainable, low-emission and climate-resilient system. These approaches also support sustainable consumption and production and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The webinar will showcase enabling policies, financing mechanisms and leading regional initiatives that drive adoption of circular and regenerative practices. It will also highlight the importance of an inclusive transition that engages smallholders, women and local communities in creating socially just and climate-resilient outcomes.
