World Sustainable Development Summit

Convening under the theme “Towards 2030 Goals: Making the Decade Count”, the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) will bring together on 29-31 January 2020 in New Delhi, India, political and business leaders as well as scientists, researchers and members of civil society to deliberate on issues related to sustainable development.

Organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the summit will focus on a number of themes pertaining to the environment and sustainability, including water, energy, industry transition, green finance and the blue economy.

In addition to plenary sessions and thematic tracks, participants can also take part in a number of other activities:

  • Sustainable Action Dialogues: Pre-summit events hosted in geographical locations outside of India and hosted in collaboration with an organization addressing development issues; discussion outcomes are shared at the WSDS.
  • Regional Dialogues: A series of pre-events hosted in Indian cities to explore critical issues of different regions and identify solutions.
  • IFAT Delhi 2020: An exhibition on clean technologies, which will provide an opportunity for global leaders to showcase technologies in the areas of waste management and water management.
  • Youth Volunteers Programme: A programme to get students at the graduate level involved in sustainability and climate change issues.
