This report proposes a framework for prioritizing US and Canadian regions for electric truck deployments based on differences in key enabling traits. The highest priority regions share traits such as relatively mild weather, cheap electricity prices, high levels of freight movement, a pressing need to improve air quality, and supportive policies and incentives.
The decades of rapid economic growth in Vietnam have been accompanied by urbanization and spatial transformation. In dealing with urbanization, the country has mounted an impressive record of keeping rural–urban and regional disparities in check through the promotion of rural industrialization and central transfers aimed at poorer areas. These transfers have allowed the expansion of basic services and infrastructure. The recommendations in this report have three layers: two policy principles, two overarching strategies, and three areas of policy actions.
The Costs and Benefits Appraisal Tool for Transit Buses aims to inform bus operators and city officials of the costs, emissions, and social benefits associated with bus fleets using different fuel types. The Tool’s outputs can help bus operators make the most cost-efficient decisions when making a clean bus upgrade, allow transit agencies to validate information provided by bus operators, and inform city officials of the social benefits of a low-carbon transit fleet.
