More and more municipalities try to design innovative energy policies in order to tackle climate change. This guidance helps municipalities tackle the complexity of energy community projects, of the legal framework and of the stakeholder’s consultation.
The first guidance, developed by the SCORE (Supporting Consumer Ownership in Renewable Energies) project aims to help municipalities understand the current legal framework surrounding energy communities as well as the state of transposition and national legal specific features. Feedback from others cities which already implemented such policies can also be very useful for municipalities which need further information to get into those projects.
The second guidance, elaborated by Climate Alliance, is a guidebook to set up your own energy community in your city, including practical steps that have to be taken, how to make a feasibility evaluation and also how to involve all stakeholders, from local players, associations and consumers, specifically the most vulnerable, to ensure a fair energy transition for everyone.
