As countries gear up to update their national climate commitments (NDCs) by 2025, it is critical that gender equality is not left behind. The gender equality and climate policy scorecard helps track how well climate policies are addressing gender gaps – not just in words, but in real action.
The scorecard evaluates climate policies across five key gender dimensions, plus how well gender is woven into overall policymaking.
It checks whether countries understand how climate change affects women and men differently, whether they recognize and support the role women and girls play in climate action, and whether they are taking concrete steps to reduce gender-related barriers.
