Finance for Biodiversity: Guide on Biodiversity Measurement Approaches (2nd Edition)

This guide provides a comprehensive overview of seven tools for measuring biodiversity currently in use by the following financial institutions: BFFI, BIA-GBS, CBF, GBSFI, GID, ENCORE and IBAT. It highlights which tools might be the most suitable for specific organizational focus areas, business applications and asset categories and shows the strengths and weaknesses of each. The also details the data and resource requirements for each tool and gives insights on what scopes and pressures are covered.

Building on the first edition that was launched in April 2021, the guide aims is to help financial institutions to find a measurement approach that fits their needs. The following elements are new to the second edition:
