This guidance provides a standardized approach for developing inventories of PCBs and for their identification and quantification, in line with the Stockholm Convention.
It supports Parties in meeting the 2025 deadline to eliminate PCB use in equipment and the 2028 deadline for environmentally sound management. It also offers practical, implementable methods to generate comparable national data over a four-year reporting cycle, covering PCB-containing equipment and open applications.
The guidance sets out approaches ranging from desktop assessments to quantitative analysis, together with standardized reporting formats to support compliance with Article 6 obligations.
