Pocket Guide to NDCs

This guide provides negotiators of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) with a brief history of the negotiations on the NDCs, a ready reference to the key decisions that have already been adopted, and a brief analysis of the outstanding issues from a developing country perspective. This includes information on what NDCs should contain, common timeframes and why they are important, the difference between conditional and unconditional contributions, and what is ICTU (information necessary for clarity, transparency, and understanding) in NDCs. The guide also discusses whether the current NDCs are adequate and how they can be enhanced.
