The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) is a global, market-led, science-based and government-supported initiative to help companies and financial institutions incorporate nature into their decision-making. It was established to encourage and facilitate a shift in the mindset and behaviour of companies and financial institutions through enterprise and portfolio risk management and mainstream corporate reporting.
The TNFD recommendations in this resource provide companies and financial institutions of all sizes with a risk management and disclosure framework to identify, assess, manage and, where appropriate, disclose nature-related issues. It includes 14 recommended disclosures covering nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities.
The recommendations are structured to allow companies and financial institutions to get started, building on their climate reporting capabilities over the past decade, and to provide a path to increase their disclosure ambition over time.
