Organisation :
Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean)

The Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean) developed this Training Manual on the Environmentally Sound Management (ESM) and Disposal of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). The manual is primarily based on the findings of a regional training needs assessment that was conducted in the eight project countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. This training manual aims to build the capacity within the respective countries to store, handle and dispose of POPs in an environmentally sound manner using the Best Available Technologies (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP).
