
Mongolia's National Action Plan on sustainable public procurement (SPP) is based on a desk study and findings of the Status Assessment Report, Market Readiness Report, SPP Prioritisation Report, Legal Review Report as well as feedback from the technical consultative meeting organised on 18th of September of 2017.

The Green Economy Policy Assessment report gives an overview of the current the policy and legal environment of four selected sectors in Mongolia: construction, solid waste management, energy and water management. The report also presents scenarios utilizing the Threshold 21 (T21) framework, jointly developed by the Millennium Institute, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environment and Tourism to test national targets and the effects of investing in a green economy in Mongolia. The "Mongolia: Green development strategic action plan for Ulaanbaatar 2020" aims to operationalize the green development agenda and transform Ulaanbaatar into a green, environmentally sustainable city, which is inclusive of economic growth, active participation of the citizens and a safe and a healthy environment. Apart from recognizing the problems the action plan addresses the negative consequences of rapid urbanization and ensures inclusivity and sustainability.

For the first time, new research presented in the Green Economy Barometer 2018: Mongolia report has quantified the opportunities of the green economy in Mongolia. Legislative commitment and investment in sustainable, inclusive economic practice could have a transformative effect by 2030. But is the country ready to make the commitment to a sustainable future?
