Call for papers: “Green Growth & Global Environmental Change”

The UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will organize a symposium on “Green Growth and Global Environmental Change: Political Ideology, Political Economy and Policy Alternatives” on 25–26 July 2014 at UNU headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Early-career researchers and policy practitioners from member countries of the Asia–Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN-GCR) are invited to submit papers for this symposium. Selection criteria include:

  • the fit between the applicant’s research and/or policy engagement, broadly defined, and this topic;
  • the applicant’s potential to benefit from and contribute to the symposium and follow-up activities; and
  • balance of country representation among participants from the Asia–Pacific Network region.

This symposium is supported by APN-GCR under its CAPaBLE Programme and by UNU-IAS. The grant from APN-GCR will help to cover travel and accommodation expenses for accepted participants.

  • Deadline for application: 31 May 2014
  • Notification of acceptance: 10 June 2014
  • Deadline for full papers: 10 July 2014

Applications

To apply, please submit:

  1. an abstract of the paper to be presented (250 words);
  2. a summary of your research interests and/or engagement with relevant policy processes, policy advocacy and social movements (500 words); and
  3. your curriculum vitae (4 pages maximum).
