Easier to use, faster to navigate, better to read: Green Fiscal Policy Network website gets an update

Projects News

The Green Fiscal Policy Network has a new and improved website to better provide knowledge-sharing on green fiscal reform.

The site offers a number of new functions, including thematic categorization, which allows users to access filtered content on green fiscal policies in the context of agriculture, biodiversity, climate change, energy, extractives, fisheries, transport, waste and water.

Users can also search for specific content type, whether it is policy briefs, blogs or training materials, by simply going to the Resources tab, as well as access a collation of relevant data on individual countries, ranging from estimates of fossil fuel subsidies to revenues from environmental taxes.

Noting the importance of the role that green fiscal policies can play in resourcing national COVID-19 relief and recovery measures, the updated website features a dedicated category for content on this crucial topic. A blog on green fiscal policies for a sustainable and resilient COVID-19 recovery is already published in this section as well as other timely posts. The site will also include more multimedia content and its own Twitter stream.

The Green Fiscal Policy Network was established in 2014 by a partnership between the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to provide an online platform for sharing resources, informing decision-makers, increasing awareness and building support for green fiscal reform. It is supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
