The Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP) is glad to welcome the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) as a new partner in green growth knowledge.
A leading Think Tank on EU policy affairs, CEPS’s main distinguishing feature is its strong in-house research capacity. The CEST team is made up of 60 researchers and 18 support staff from 23 nationalities, complemented by an extensive network of partner institutes throughout the world. CEPS also serves as an inclusive forum for debate among all relevant stakeholders (industry, business, associations, policy makers, NGOs, academia), notably engaging a large base of corporate and institutional members.
CEPS actively generates and shares knowledge on the green economy, including through GreenEcoNet – a web platform that supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the transition to a green economy by providing access to relevant information, tools, and networking opportunities – and Circular Impacts which aims to provide evidence to policy makers about the impacts of the circular economy transition.
CEPS is also active in generating knowledge around smart cities. CEPS was part of a project consortium that set up the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP-SCC), which brings municipal governments together with industry, SMEs, banks, research houses, and other relevant actors to accumulate knowledge and exchange information for the development and implementation of integrated smart city solutions. CEPS has also collaborated with other smart city projects, including the POCACITO (Post Carbon Cities of Tomorrow), and has supported the lnternational Electrotechnical Commission to prepare its White Paper on Orchestrating infrastructure for sustainable Smart Cities.
Working towards the development of circular economy business models, resource efficiency indicators, and green financing, CEPS set up a Circular Economy Task Force of representatives of major EU multinational companies and senior executives from NGOs and research institutes to make actionable policy recommendations on the circular economy. CEPS also co-chairs the T20’s Circular Economy Task Force, which supports G20 policy making under German Presidency.
Finally, CEPS has published numerous papers and studies on green growth topics, including Resource Efficiency Indicators for Policy-Making, Implementation of Circular Economy Business Models by Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs): Barriers and Enablers, and Time to connect the dots: What is the link between climate change and the circular economy?
The GGKP looks forward to CEPS ongoing contribution to the growing body of global green growth research and knowledge.
