On 24-27 August 2022, the Global Green Growth Institute's (GGGI) Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation (SPAR6C) team held an inception mission to Thailand.
The event kicked-off the SPAR6C project and allowed personal meetings among the most relevant Thai counterparts– the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy (ONEP), the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (TGO), and the KPC team–after a long period of preparation preceding the official start of the project. Meetings with other relevant organisations involved in the development of Article 6 in Thailand and the region were also held (GIZ, UNEP, GGGI Thailand, German Embassy).
One of the core activities of this first visit to Thailand was a day long workshop with ONEP and TGO with the purpose of bringing everyone on the same page, creating a common vision, discussing outcomes of the project, identifying needs, as well as defining the way forward and next steps.
