Evidence shows that all economies have to adjust lifestyles and consumption levels to live below a 1.5-degree global rise in temperature. We need to re-think how we eat, move, live and choose to spend our time and resources. This side event at Stockholm +50 on 2 June, organized by Hot or Cool Institute and UNEP (GO4SDGs), explored how our future lifestyles need to change. The discussions circled back to the 5 regional consultations that focused on the need for a new matrix; policy approaches; and amplification of messages to regenerate, rebalance and restore our relationship with nature.

Some of the key messages and recommendations from the event are:
•    Create and continue to raise awareness on sustainable choices.
•    Moving away from the GDP and putting new indicators to growth by moving to a wellbeing economy.
•    Not to forget the good lessons from COVID-19 that will help us to re-think and choose how to spend our time and resources.
•    Halve the greenhouse emissions by 2030.
•    Create positive inspiring visions of sustainable tomorrow, by engaging everyone especially the youth.
