Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health at the Oxford Martin School

The Rockefeller Foundation Economic Council on Planetary Health at the Oxford Martin School is an assembly of global experts convened to investigate the economic and policy case for the emerging field of Planetary Health. When natural systems suffer, so does the health of individuals, families and communities around the world. Planetary Health is a new multi-disciplinary approach that brings together human and ecosystem science, public health, economics, markets, and policy.  The Council’s objective is to safeguard the health of future generations.

The Council will develop recommendations and a decision-making framework that balances economic development with ecosystem protection, while promoting human health and well-being. Yale Professor and  former President of Mexico, Ernesto Zedillo chairs the Council.
