
Dr. Şerban Scrieciu has recently joined the European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy in Brussels to work as economic analyst and policy officer in the area of EU energy, the economy and climate. He has worked for several years in the academic sector, mostly for UK universities (Cambridge, Manchester, and Greenwich) and a couple of years with international organizations, particularly the United Nations Environment Programme. Şerban’s research interests include green growth issues, international climate and energy policy analysis, energy-environment-economy modeling, methodological developments for the macroeconomic analysis of sustainability, and the role of ethics and rhetoric in the economics discipline. He has published more than twenty-five articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals, has authored and co-authored books, and has undertaken several evaluations and consultancy projects for a number of funding bodies and international organizations.
