After Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Economics (UC3M, Spain), Albert Merino-Saum has specialized in fields of Ecological Economics and Sustainability Evaluations. He holds a post-graduate degree in Environmental Law (UNED, Spain), another post-graduate degree in Environmental Policy (UAB, Spain) and a research Master degree (with top honours) in Environmental Economics and Territorial Governance (UVSQ, France). His PhD (defended with summa cum laude at UVSQ, France) focuses on the study of several environmental decision-aid tools (monetary evaluations, participatory multi-criteria approaches, environmental scenarios, etc.).
Before joining the Chair for Green Economy and Resource Governance (GERG) at the EPFL in May 2016, Albert Merino-Saum worked as associate lecturer at the UVSQ, where he taught core courses in Economics, as well as several interdisciplinary courses related to Sustainability Science.
At the EPFL, he is leading several interdisciplinary projects related to: Green Economy indicators; Scenarios for Sustainability; and Metrics for Sustainable Energy Security.
Albert Merino-Saum is also co-Editor of the IJSD (International Journal of Sustainable Development) a scientific journal published by Inderscience.
