
Anuja Malhotra is Research Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), working on the UNDP project ‘SECURE Himalaya’. Under this project, her work has involved updating the Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP) for Sikkim (Eastern Himalayan State in India), while also curating a resource mobilization strategy for implementation of said BSAP. Prior to joining NIPFP, she has worked on a NITI Aayog (policy think tank under the Government of India), project for analyzing social sector expenditure of the major Indian States, over the last three decades. She has also worked on the applicability of circular economy principles to make the Delhi NCR region ‘greener’. Anuja holds a Master’s Degree in Economics, with a specialization in Resource and Environmental Economics from TERI School of Advanced Studies and Bachelors in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College (Delhi University). An environment enthusiast, her research interests lie in Ecological Economics, Environment and Development, Environmental Policy and Circular Economy.
