Arthur Wood is the Founding Partner of TOTAL Impact Capital. He is a recognized pioneer and innovator in social finance / impact investment, coining the appellation “Market Based Solutions to Philanthropy” back in 2005. Arthur has held senior positions in both financial institutions (Dresdner Kleinwort, Merrill, and Coutts) and in “socially driven organisations" – Ashoka, Total Impact Advisors, UN, and GCSP. Arthur wrote the UN’s report on Impact Investing and the move to Outcome Models in 2013 for UNESCAP; and he has been an expert advisor to OECD on Impact Investing G8 Report, Metrics and the implications of Blockchain / Distributed Ledger Technology. He is Founding Partner in Europe of Total Impact Advisers. His US Co-Founder is John Simon, US Former Ambassador and Former Head of OPIC-now the US DFC. Their clients include the Aga Khan’s Foundation, designing its global Impact Investment programme. In the last 18 months, Total Impact has partnered with IDE4 Foundation (exclusive licensed CERN technology selected by the UNSG for UN75, UNCRI, EBRD), the State of Geneva, former Charity and Financial Regulators; Catalyst and with Dr Peter Head. This collaboration called Equity4Humanity is aimed at creating a viable system that could dramatically reduce the cost of funding the SDGs. Create an aggregation process that will allow Financial Innovation to be plugged and played leveraging both capital sources and innovation.
