Betty is a South African qualified competition lawyer, with a Master of Laws Degree in Competition Law from the Queen Mary University of London (2019). Betty is also a 2018/2019 Chevening Alumni.
While Betty has primarily practiced competition law in South Africa, she also has Australian competition law experience, working at the Gilbert and Tobin Competition and Regulatory Practice Group in Australia.
Betty has an interest in competition law and public interest research. She and two other colleagues have recently completed a research project for the OECD, which explores the role of competition policy in creating a gender inclusive economy.
Prior to that Betty has undertaken several research projects studying the South African competition law’s approach on the use of public interest considerations to advance historically disadvantaged individuals.
