
Dr Detlef Schreiber is Group leader of Environment, Biodiversity, Forest at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. He has more than 30 years of experience in the area of environmental policy, climate, geosciences and resource management in Germany / Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. From 2001-2007 he was a senior advisor in the Technical Cooperation project “Competitiveness and Environment”, MERCOSUR-Germany. From 2008-2015, he was the Head of Competence Centre Environmental Policy, Resource Efficiency and Waste Management at GIZ where his work focused on international cooperation with developing countries and emerging economies on the green economy, environmental economics, resource efficiency and related issues.
