Dr. Prasoon Agarwal is Energy Sector Co-Lead and Senior Advisor at Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), where he has been contributing to shape GGGI’s global energy thematic strategy, and also working closely with policy think-tanks and other stakeholders in India, to support national government and state governments of Karnataka, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in achieving Green Growth. Prior to joining GGGI, he has worked as an Economist with the International Energy Agency (IEA) / Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, as well as with National Oil Company, academia and private sector in India.
Dr Agarwal has been a co-author of the IEA’s World Energy Outlook (WEO), 2011 and 2012 editions, where he made contributions on global buildings and transport energy demand analysis, inter-linkages of energy & development, and energy efficiency. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Varanasi, and a Ph.D from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.
