
Gabriele Wagner has been working for over 26 years in the field of international cooperation with a focus on global environmental issues, sustainable development and multi-stakeholder partnerships. In her current position as an advisor for a GIZ global project in Berlin, she supports transformation processes towards inclusive green economy at global and country level.
Prior to this, she was a project leader of a GIZ regional program supporting South-East European countries in their EU accession efforts related to biodiversity conservation, based in Sarajevo. Earlier, she spent 17 years working as team leader and operational advisor in charge of portfolio development, supervision and evaluation of environmental operations funded by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in Washington and at country level in various regions. Gabriele Wagner studied international economics and foreign trade policy in Germany.
