Gary Kleiman is a senior environmental specialist on the Policy Team within the Climate Change Group of the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Gary has worked extensively (for both state and national governments) on issues related to various aspects of regional and global air quality, energy infrastructure and climate policy, as well as fiscal policies and incentives for achieving low-carbon economic development. Past work with state governments involved the development of an integrated assessment framework for examining the environmental, economic, and public health consequences of various emission reduction policy options. He is currently working to develop a World Bank-wide approach to climate change and health and to demonstrate the multiple benefits of reducing greenhouse gases, short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), and traditional air pollution simultaneously.
